Built by a fleet owner who got tired of software that didn't work
Most TMS platforms were designed years ago and haven't meaningfully changed. FreightOps started from scratch as an internal tool for a real carrier—not a VC pitch deck.
The short version
Our founder ran a fleet of trucks. Every TMS he tried was either too expensive, too complicated, or missing something obvious — like being able to forward a rate con and have the load built automatically.
So he built his own. It started as a side project in 2023. By the time it was handling his company's operations reliably, the decision was made to build it into a product other carriers could use.
That's FreightOps. No outside investors, no bloated feature list designed to look good in a demo. Just a TMS that does what carriers actually need it to do.
How we got here
The frustration
Our founder ran a motor carrier and dealt firsthand with TMS software that was expensive, clunky, and missing things that should be obvious.
Built for himself first
FreightOps started as an internal tool—built specifically for our founder's own fleet to replace the spreadsheets and patchwork of workarounds.
Opening to other carriers
After running reliably in-house, development shifted toward a product other carriers could use. If it fixed our problems, it could fix theirs too.
Beta
Real carriers, real feedback. AI-powered dispatch, automated compliance tracking, and driver settlements refined through actual daily use.
What we believe
Pricing should be straightforward
First truck free, then a flat per-truck rate with volume discounts. No per-user fees, no feature tiers, no seat limits.
Software should handle the tedious parts
Reading rate cons, calculating driver pay, tracking CDL expirations — these are things a computer should do automatically.
It has to work with what you already use
If your ELD is Samsara or Motive, it connects. If you use QuickBooks, it syncs. We don't ask you to replace everything — just add FreightOps on top.
Small fleets deserve real software
Most enterprise TMS platforms start at $500+/month and need an implementation team. We built something a 3-truck owner-operator can set up in an afternoon.
